 Obtaining his BA from UC Santa Barbara, Michael Moore began his pursuit of a career in tax planning and tax preparation by passing all four sections of the Certified Public Accounting examination. In his first CPA position, at Ernst and Young LLP, he analyzed a variety of depreciation methods and capital asset acquisitions. From there, he went onto Dubin and Natividad, where he conducted extensive complex audits on a multitude of accounts. |

After passing the California State Bar Exam in 1999, Scott represented individual motion picture producers, directors, writers, actors and composers handling various matters from development, contract negotiations, distribution to litigation.
Later, he went to work with Barab, Abrams and Coate, LLP a entertaiment law firm based in Beverly Hills, CA. During his tenure he worked for a multitude of production clients on over Fifteen (15) feature films. Additionally, he was in charge of preparing and litigating arbitration grievances filed by the Screen Actors Guild, Writers Guild and Directors Guild. In early 2002 Scott became the sole outside counsel to a major motion picture distribution company, where he was responsible for the negotiation and drafting of several distribution deals for such films as The Long Ride Home, School of Life, Red Rover, and $windle. He also handled this company's litigation matters. Later in 2002, Scott established his own professional corporation, focusing primarily on production legal work with independent producers, actors, writers, directors and composers. This experience has prepared and trained him to excel as a hands-on producer. |
